Out of the Office

I'm about to go on vacation! Yessss. I am really excited to see my family and friends. I'll just have to forget the fact that I may not see them again for another year.

This article is pretty much the sweetest thing I've read this month:

A New Chapter

Sorry if the last couple posts were whiny, or as they say in my future home, whingy. I am really excited about moving over there, and I'm confident that God's going to provide for and use Sarah and I in some amazing ways in the next few years.

Have you ever had a chocky bicky? Or a hearty rasher of baky? Have you ever worn a rashy while surfing? Have you downed a VB? If you have then you've probably been to Australia.

The Wheels Turn Slowly

It's truly amazing how many systems fail when you're trying to move quickly from one country to another.

My wife is trying to get her passport renewed. She sent it in seven weeks ago with our state issued, state sealed, official marriage license. One week ago, when she should have recieved her new passport, she recieved a letter saying that the marriage license was not the right one. So she had to pay the expediting fee and overnight some more identifying documents to the US Department of State. I'm convinced it's a moneymaking scheme for the DoS and FedEx.

Forget about anyone promptly responding to your emails too.

The Planes Fly In As The Train Rolls On

Soon I will no longer be looking out the 10th floor window of 2711 Jefferson Davis Hwy. I will be in the "JP Morgan Building" and I almost certainly will not have a window desk. I am a lonely staff engineer in the midst of managers. We will be some of the first to occupy the office though, so I won't give up hope. I'll also be looking out over Adelaide rather than Reagan National, which seems like it should be fairly significant.
